2011 Scholarship Recipients

Christa Allen will graduate Huntingtown High School in Huntingtown, Maryland. In the fall of 2011, she will proudly attend Meredith College in Raleigh, North Carolina majoring in Accounting. Upon completing her Master’s Degree in Accounting she plans on earning her certification as a public accountant.

 

 

 

Mary Bailey will graduate in June from Bethel Park High School in Bethel Park, Pennsylvania, where she holds 4.3QPA. She is an Allegheny Mountain Swimming Scholastic All American, and a member of the National Honor Society since her sophomore year. She Co-chairs the National Honor Society’s Dance and Induction Committee. Mary has studied Accounting for two years and is currently taking an Independent Study Accounting (Honors) class.

This year she joined DECA and placed first in the Accounting Application Individual Series Event at the District Level qualifying her to compete at the Pennsylvania Career Development Conference in February 2011 where she hopes to qualify to compete at the International Development Conference.

Mary plans to pursue a degree in Accounting with a possible minor in Spanish.

 

 

Callie Bubb will graduate from Greenport High School on Long Island, New York this June. She was involved in many extracurricular activities including Varsity Cheerleading, Varsity Field Hockey and Varsity Softball.

Callie was a member of the Student Council and National Honor Society, President of Greenport’s chapter of Student Against Destructive Decisions and editor of the yearbook. She is graduating in the top 10 percent of her class.

In the fall of 2011, Callie plans on studying Accounting and Finances at the University of Albany, University of Delaware or Fordham University at Rose Hill.

 

 

Michael Casias, son of Lisa and Don Casias, is an honor student from North Stafford High School, carries a 4.25 GPA and is in the top 5% of his class. While excelling in the class room he has also excelled on the playing field as a three year varsity starter in football; two of those years as a Captain. Football has provided him the opportunity to pursue an Ivy League education after he recently committed to play football at the University of Pennsylvania. Michael is enrolled in the Wharton School of Business and plans to major in accounting. Michael has been a class officer for the past three years, is active in the National Honor Society and the Future Business Leaders of America club. He has also been awarded the Virginia Society of CPA’s Award of Achievement both his sophomore and junior year of high school.

 

 

Jonathan Coppolino, son of Dominic & Cindy of Oakham and grandson of Robert Schlicke of Phillipston, will graduate from Quabbin Regional High School in Barre, Massachusetts. He plans to study accounting at a four year university. He is a member of the National Honor Society, Blue/Gold Key Society and Spanish Club as well as the varsity football and tennis teams.

 

 

 

Kim Jamros will graduate Silver Creek High School in Sellersburg, Indiana this June. She is a member of the Volleyball, Basketball, and Softball teams, and in 2010 was selected as a member of the Academic All-State Team for Volleyball through the Indiana High School Athletic Association. She is involved in the Fellowship of Christian Athletes, O-Zone School Spirit Club, National Honor Society, and the Silver Creek Career Academy Programs (SCCAP). She is also President of the National Honor Society, the Silver Creek Financial Center, and the Silver Creek Career Academies.

As the President of the Silver Creek Financial Center, Kim is in charge of the student run bank open to students and staff of SCHS. Through the opportunities offered in the accounting curriculum, Kim is a member of the Silver Creek Academy of Finance which is affiliated with the National Academy Foundation (NAF). She presented NAF’s new “Monopoly Accounting” curriculum at the 2010 National Academy Foundation Conference in Philadelphia.

In addition to the conference, Kim has attended the Business and Accounting Summer Education Camp, two Venture Capitalist Luncheons, and participated in two years of Job Shadowing. She plans on majoring in Accounting and attending Bellarmine University or Indiana University Southeast.

 

 

Kevin Krautscheid will graduate from Centennial High School in Gresham, Oregon this June. He has excelled in the classroom, taking every AP and advanced course available at his high school, while maintaining a 4.0 GPA.

Kevin has dedicated much of his high school career to the Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA) organization, serving as chapter community service chairman, Treasurer/Secretary, and Executive Vice President, as well as the Oregon FBLA Mt. Hood Region Vice President. In competition Kevin has attained state championship titles in Accounting I and Community Service Project, after chairing a project that raised $11,333 for the March of Dimes. In addition, Kevin has served as Student Body Treasurer, National Honor Society Treasurer, Freshman Mentor, and member of the Cross-Country and Track & Field teams.

Next fall, he plans to attend either Santa Clara University or the University of Portland, where he plans to major in accounting and management, with an ultimate desire to one day become a Certified Public Accountant.

 

 

Cameron Scotese will graduate from Washington Township High School in Sewell, New Jersey in June of 2011. He is the Vice President of the Business Education Honor Society, Executive Board Member of DECA where he was selected to participate in the NJ state competition, and is a member of the National Honor Society, German National Honor Society, National Society of High School Scholars, United States Achievement Academy, Junior Achievement, Positive Coaching Alliance and a Regional Qualifier for the Future Business Leaders of America.

With the assistance of ncCPAp and the AICPA Scholarship, Cameron is looking forward to a career as a CPA. He plans to play soccer in college while obtaining a B. S. degree in Accounting and a minor degree in German. He is considering attending Rutgers, Stevenson, Widener, Eastern, Ursinus, St. Joseph or Arcadia Universities.

 

 

Edianí Ramírez Torres was born in the western town of Mayagüez, Puerto Rico. Currently, she is a senior at the Colegio Episcopal San Andrés at Mayagüez, Puerto Rico. After graduation, she plans to attend the University of Puerto Rico, Mayagüez Campus pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Accounting.

 

 

 

Timothy Schloz will graduate this spring with an honors diploma from Whitmer High School in Toledo, Ohio. Tim is ranked among the top 15 of his class, a class of over 500 students. Tim is a four year varsity cross country runner and a former Buckeye Boys State delegate. He is also a member of National Honor Society, Mu Alpha Theta, and Speech and Debate. Tim would like to thank former State Auditor of Ohio and now current Lieutenant Governor of Ohio, Mary Taylor for allowing Tim to have an oversight of the state auditor’s office. Tim looks forward to studying accounting at the University of Toledo.

 

 

Kelly Valentine will graduate from Point Pleasant Borough High School in Point Pleasant, NJ where she is ranked in the top three percent of her class.

Kelly is the current FBLA treasurer and is a member of the National Honor Society, Leo Club, Yearbook Committee, School Newspaper, and Peer Mediation. She enjoys playing first base on the varsity softball team and has participated in the Challenger softball program.

Kelly plans to attend Rutgers University in the fall and pursue a MBA/CPA.
