2012 Scholarship Recipients
PAYGE CORAZZINI will graduate from Greenport High School in Greenport, New York this spring. Next year she plans on attending the University of Kentucky where she will study Political Science and Accounting. For the past four years, Payge has been a volunteer at the Long Island Tax Symposium. She is also a member of the National Honor Society, has taken multiple AP classes and is the captain of the varsity cheerleading squad for both football and basketball and a 2011 member of Team USA at the International Cup Baton Twirling Finals where her team won a silver medal.
KIRSTEN FRITZ, daughter of Roger and Jodi Fritz, will be graduating from Southwestern High School in Hazel Green, WI where she is currently ranked number one in her class. She is a current member of the National Honors Society and has recently been selected for the Student Spotlight Award. For the past four years, She has been part of the SWCC gymnastics team receiving Most-Improved her freshmen year, making the All-conference 2nd team for beam her junior year, and voted captain her senior year. Kirsten also enjoys playing softball on Southwestern’s softball team and painting in her free time. In the fall of 2012, she plans to major in accounting at either St. Ambrose University or Edgewood College.
JARED M. GLOVER will graduate this June fifth in his class and with a 3.97 GPA from Silver Creek High School in Indiana. He is a member of the National Honor Society, President of the Silver Creek Financial Center (school based bank) and Vice President of the Silver Creek Career Academy Program, which helps to prepare students for prospective career goals. This Fall, Jared plans on attending the University of Kentucky where he will major in Accounting.
JUSTIN GREENWOOD currently lives in Menomonee Falls, Wisconsin, and attends Menomonee Falls High School. He is involved in many extracurricular activities including, football, baseball, and track and field. A member of the Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA), he placed 5th out of 75 for Accounting II at a recent regional competition. Justin has been involved in accounting courses since his sophomore year and is presently in College Accounting being offered at his high school. Currently holding a 3.45 GPA out of a 4.0 scale, Justin has made honor roll every year of high school. In the fall, Justin plans on attending the University of Iowa and majoring in accounting with a possible minor in economics. During college his plan is to move forward with an internship in junior year and after graduating with a bachelors, plans to work for a masters in accounting.
ZACK HECHT is a senior at Kennedy High School in Bellmore, New York. He will attend college in the fall and major in accounting. He has been accepted at University of Michigan. Zack is the vice president of accounting in his virtual enterprise class at school. Math and science have been his passion throughout his high school years. Zack plays varsity basketball for his high school as a power forward and center. He is a musician and the founder and lead guitarist for his band, Exit 9. He thanks NCCPAP & the AICPA for the scholarship award and appreciates the financial assistance for his college tuition.
CHIARA MARANGELLI will graduate from Bishop Kearney High School in Brooklyn, New York in June of 2012. Chiara has been a member of the National Honor Society since her sophomore year and is currently Secretary of Key Club. She has taken an accounting class in her senior year to help build a foundation for the major she plans to pursue further in college. In the fall of 2012, she plans to study Accounting at The University of Scranton, St. John’s University, or Pace University. Ultimately, she plans to become a Certified Public Accountant.
BRIANNE PUDENZ is the eldest daughter of three of Kurt and Mary Pudenz. This spring she will graduate from Waukee High School where she is active in the National Honors Society, Art Club, R.A.K., Lacrosse, Color Guard, and the school-to-work program. In the Fall, Brianne will attend Iowa State University to study Accounting.
DANIELLA SAVARESE is a senior at Howell High School in New Jersey where she is editor for the yearbook, a member of the National Honor Society and a member of a community service club. Daniella is a former recipient of the Presidential Award for volunteer work at the Toms River Armory and last year attended the National Young Leadership Conference in Washington D.C. She also dances at The Next Step Dance Academy. In the fall, she will attend college and major in accounting.
GRANT VAN DYKE will graduate in June from Tigard High School in Tigard, Oregon. He is a full International Baccalaureate Diploma Candidate who has maintained a 4.33 cumulative weighted GPA. After participating in Young Entrepreneur’s Business Week summer programs focused on entrepreneurship, investment management and leadership, Grant established Tigard High’s first student investment club. Interested in sharing his financial knowledge with peers, Grant developed a web site (www.howtosurviveandthrive.net) to educate young adults on the most important drivers of their personal finances. As an active member of National Honor Society and Key Club, Grant led various service projects, including a fundraiser for Smile Train which raised funds to pay for one child’s cleft palate surgery, and collecting balls and backpacks to support students in Rwanda through the Kittelson Charitable Foundation. He received several “Giving Back” awards from THS teachers for “going above and beyond in giving back to the Tigard High community.” Grant plans to obtain advanced education in finance, accounting and investment management through classroom, leadership and extracurricular activities, culminating in both a CPA license and Personal Financial Specialist designation.
ALEXANDRA VIZARD will graduate from Portage Northern High School in Portage, Michigan this May. She has taken numerous International Baccalaureate and business classes. Alex is in the top 5 of her class and has a 4.625 weighted GPA. She has been a 4-H member for 9 years and currently serves as President of her club. She has also served as a 4-H Vice-President and Club Ambassador. Alex is a member of the National Honor Society and the local Interact club. Upon graduating, Alex plans to study accounting at St. Mary’s College, Aquinas College, or Western Michigan University and hopes to become a CPA.
